People of any age – retired, still working or not yet employed – can expect an entertaining time at the 16th Annual State Retiree Council Fun(d)raiser, on Saturday, May 4, 2019. The good times will roll from 3-7 p.m., at the Sheet Metal Workers Local 10 Hall, 1681 Cope Ave., Maplewood MN. PLEASE NOTE THIS CHANGE OF LOCATION AFTER THE PAST FEW YEARS AT THE ST. PAUL RLF BUILDING. That was a great location for us, but with increasing attendance, last year it seemed a bit crowded. Thanks to the RLF and the Sheetmetal Workers for their generous gift of facility usage to support the Retiree Council!
The popular, free admission event will feature free food, music, hourly raffles for valuable prizes, a silent auction and the all-important state-wide raffle. Parking is free.
The state-wide raffle features a drawing for major cash prizes, one $500 cash prize, two $300 cash prizes, two $150 cash prizes and two $100 cash prizes. All affiliates will receive a letter including flyers and two books of raffle tickets in late January or early February. Raffle tickets are available now. Should you need tickets before the letters go out, please give a call to 651 227 7647, ext. 121 with your request. Three tickets cost only $5.00.
Our extensive election work this year has left us with a limited carryover for our 2019 budget. This will be an important year of working with RLFs, ALCs and affiliates to organize union retiree groups and assist established groups with internal organizing. So this year’s Fun(d) Raiser is critical to our mission.
Watch for further information. Enjoy a happy and healthy holiday season!
