Minnesota AFL-CIO President Bill McCarthy issued the following statement on the Electoral College’s election of President-elect Joe Biden & Vice President-elect Kamala Harris:
“Today in Saint Paul, Minnesota’s ten electors joined electors in all 50 states and Washington D.C. to confirm the election of Labor-endorsed Joe Biden & Kamala Harris as our next President and Vice President.
“In the face of numerous frivolous legal challenges, today’s action shows that our democratic institutions are working, and democracy is prevailing.
“It’s now time for Congressmen Emmer, Hagedorn, Stauber, Congresswoman-elect Fischbach, and a number of Republican State Legislators to respect Minnesota voters and our democracy, stop signing onto anti-democratic challenges, and acknowledge there will be a new administration in January.”
