Last year, Minnesota’s Labor Movement joined with community partners and lawmakers to pass the strongest protections against wage theft in the nation. By passing this bill, we made it clear that bosses who fail to pay workers what they are owed will face heavy consequences.
Now, less than a year after it became law, powerful special interests are trying to weaken Minnesota’s history-making wage theft legislation. They say it’s too “burdensome” for employers to put workers’ pay in writing. They want to exempt certain employers from the law. We must not let them undo what took years of hard work to create.
Contact your legislators and tell them to oppose ANY weakening of Minnesota’s wage theft law.
