The Southeast MN Area Labor Council and HCAN rallied outside of Senator Klobuchar and Representative Tim Walz's Rochester offices to show their support for health care reform yesterday. About 75 ralliers supported and listened to speakers. Speakers included Southeast MN ALC President Laura Askelin, Russell Hess, President of Rochester Area Trades and Labor Assembly, Nancy Bauman, TakeAction Minnesota member, and Julie Schnell, President of SEIU Healthcare Minnesota.
AFSCME, Laborers, Education MN, SEIU, UAW, USW, & Unite Here were represented in the crowd. Attending organizations included TakeAction Minnesota, SE MN Alliance of Peacemakers, American Cancer Society, and Planned Parenthoo. KTTC covered the event and you can watch the clip here.
After the speakers finished, the group delivered personal letters, a chain and scrubs to Representative Walz's office where they met with one of Rep. Walz's staff members.
