Minneapolis union retiree activist Carol Freeman will be Minnesota Labor 2018 Coordinator for the Retiree Council. She will be working with the Regional Labor Federation and Area Labor Council retiree organizations, as well as other Retiree Council affiliates, to recruit volunteers to do our part in meeting Labor 2018 goals — electing a worker-friendly Governor and State House of Representatives and working for AFL-CIO endorsed Congressional and Senatorial candidates.
Carol knows the Minneapolis area labor retiree community, as she is secretary of the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation Retiree Council. She says she looks forward to getting to know union retiree leaders and volunteers throughout the state as she undertakes this new challenge. Her background and experience prepare her well for this job, done for the past eight election cycles by Retiree Council President Emeritus Dan Mikel.
Carol worked as a high school teacher in Minneapolis, as an organizer for the Minnesota Federation of Teachers, and for the University of Minnesota, evaluating school programs. She retired in 2009 and since has spent her time with many election campaigns—among them, the Obama campaign in 2012, the Franken campaign in 2014 and the 2016 combined campaign for the DFL. Carol invites you to contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org or 612 250 7294. Welcome Carol!
